House Pancake Race

Shrove Tuesday saw Solefield School hold the annual Pancake race. This was a house event with a boy chosen from each year group (Reception through to Year 8) to represent the houses, Marlowe, Sackville, Stanhope and Wolfe. Representative team members saw individual boys with a pancake in their pan, run to the far end of the playground where they tossed their pancake and returned to the start. The crowd of boys spectating were hugely supportive of their team mates and were enjoying the atmosphere; names of houses were being shouted throughout the playground during the tense race to see who won!
 
Boys could be seen running with their pans, while some boys were struggling to flip a pancake. Finally, House Master, Mr Henry revealed the results following Mr Keyes keen eye for the competition: Sackville 1st place (pictured at right with Mr Quiney), Wolfe 2nd, Stanhope 3rd and Marlowe 4th. Mr Henry agreed with the boys, that the event was "great fun".
