The School Day

The school opens from 8.00am, with registration at 8.25am. Regular morning assemblies may consist of a hymn, and a presentation by form classes, a member of staff, or a Year 8 boy. Solefield welcomes boys of all denominations. Lunch is a substantial meal prepared by our caterers, Holroyd Howe (http://www.holroydhowe.co.uk) in the school kitchens.

To assist parents, there is a late class for KS1 boys until 3.55pm.

In Years 4-8, everyone finishes at 3.55pm, subject to their school commitments such as matches. Boys in Year 8 are expected to remain at school until 5.20pm to complete their prep, supervised by a member of staff. Clubs for Year 4 and above are also available at this time.

On Saturday there is school for Year 8 from 9.00am until 11.00am. Very occasionally there are school matches and sports trainings for selected boys on Saturdays; all boys selected are expected to represent the school. In order to help families plan in advance a school calendar for the following term is issued to all parents at the end of every term. Any amendments to this printed calendar will be displayed on the live calendar or notified to parents via the regular School newsletter, The Acorn.

We offer before and after school care during term time from 7.30am until 6.00pm
