Facilities

Physically, the main building, originally a large Victorian town house, contains any visitors first port of call, where you will arrive in the Old Library. This large room is panelled with boards containing the names of all our Senior Leavers. You are assured of a warm welcome by the Registrar and School Secretary in the school office and the Headmaster operates a very open door policy to his study which is also located here. The main building also contains several classrooms, staff room, kitchens, the school administrative offices and our fantastic new Art Studio.

The modern Music School is complemented by our 2008 building comprising the library, ICT suite and three large, light classrooms for the Senior boys. The refurbishment of the Science Laboratory in Easter 2010 included the generous gift of a Fume Cabinet from our Parents' Association (SPA).

Summer 2011 was particularly busy on the development front with the refurbishment of parts of the playground and the installation of a traversing wall, again kindly donated by SPA, and the rebuilding of the raised area of the playground providing a quiet shaded enclave, a staging area and rope tunnel for the more agile. Summer 2011 also saw the refurbishment of the classrooms for Years 1 to 3 in the Junior Block. In addition to a facelift, they have benefited from a complete refit of furniture and layout in order to promote and enhance independent learning. A completely new computer system with the latest computers and software was also installed throughout the school; every classroom has an interactive Whiteboard. Finally, we were able to convert the whole of the top floor of the main building into a stunning light-filled art studio dedicated to all things artistic!

The boys further benefit from the School Hall (with indoor cricket net and modular stage) and Dining Room where they and the staff all eat their lunch. The grounds contain the main school buildings and a large floodlit playground (suitable for football, basketball, and short tennis). The playing fields, comprising three full-sized pitches, are a short walk from the school.
