World’s fastest blind man visits Solefield

Today, Solefield School was visited by Steve Cunningham of “Blindvision”, known as the world's fastest blind man. Steve was a founder member and captain of the England Blind Football team and he also broke the 100m World Junior Blind sprint title. He was a member of both the UK Athletics team and England Blind Cricket team.

The Merry Opera Company —”Much ado about Opera”

The Chamber Choir spent the whole of Saturday 8th October at Penshurst Church, working with members of The Merry Opera Company, preparing arias and choruses from famous operas.  This was a fascinating experience for the boys and an excellent opportunity to sing with professional opera singers.

Latin is Very Much Alive!

Year 8 went on a Roman military expedition to the Old Library to find the Solefield School motto, which is of course in Latin! Rory Dickson produced a brilliant picture of the school shield, earning a Red Mark, as did the following boys for their imaginative and relevant translations
