Year 1 had a wonderful day at Leeds Castle as part of our History topic. The children were excited to explore the castle and learn about its fascinating past.
During our visit, we took part in an engaging storytelling workshop where we retold Leeds Castle's version of Swan Lake. The children loved bringing the story to life and developing their understanding of this magical tale.
We also learned about the history of the castle and discovered how it has changed over time. After some energetic fun in the castle playground and the maze, we enjoyed a guided tour of the castle itself.
The children were fascinated to learn about the different rooms and their purposes throughout history. They particularly enjoyed hearing about the lives of the people who once lived there and seeing the beautiful features of the castle. A firm favourite was the party room, where the children were amazed to discover a secret door hidden within the room!
It was a fantastic day filled with learning, exploration and adventure, and the children represented the school brilliantly throughout the trip. We are very proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour.
