Our Lunch Menu can be accessed on this page during term time. Our menu is also displayed in our school Dining Room.
We try to offer as varied a menu as possible over the course of the term which means that the main courses tend to appear, at most, twice in a term although the roast lunches appear weekly due to popular demand. As a result of discussions had in the School Council by the boys and at their request, the roast lunch is now served on a Thursday whilst a pasta dish is served on a Wednesday before matches. I truly believe that we can continue to improve what we offer at school so that our boys can benefit from a delicious, freshly cooked and nutritious meal at every lunch time. We provide a vegetarian alternative, set out in the menus, and cater for children who have allergies or particular religious requirements. From time to time we will have special menus which we try to link in with what the children are learning about at School, for example, in celebration of the European Week of Languages, "National Vegetarian Week", Geography Week and towards the end of the Christmas term we always have a traditional Christmas lunch.
We continue to use Coldbreath's Butchers in Seal who deliver fresh meat to us daily and ask our caterers Holroyd Howe to source everything as locally as possible. Please remember that this does mean that the advertised meals will change at short notice if ingredients are not available but we will always try to substitute with something as similar as possible. We ask our caterers to continually assess our suppliers with the aim of providing the best possible produce that we can, that is sourced as locally as possible. If you would like to know more about our caterers this is the link to their website http://www.holroydhowe.co.uk/home.
We have introduced the initiative of a Food Committee at school. The Food Committee comprising boys, parents, staff and caterers meets at least termly to discuss all aspects of the food that is on offer at school and they can be contacted with any non-urgent concerns, comments or constructive criticisms on FOOD@solefieldschool.org. Whilst this e-mail will be checked regularly, feedback will be given once the Food Committee has met.
Please note that any concerns regarding individual medical conditions, allergies or anything urgent should continue to be addressed to Mrs Philps on email@example.com.
Thank you for your continued support and bon appétit!
Mrs Rosalind Philps
