Sports Round Up

Mr Cramp

2nd October 2026

It has been another busy and successful week of sport at Solefield, with pupils representing the school across a wide range of sports and competitions.

Our U10 Boys’ Footballers got the week off to an excellent start with a fantastic effort at the St Michael’s Tournament on Saturday. The boys showed great determination, teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the tournament and should be very proud of their efforts.

There was also a strong showing at the Sevenoaks Mixed U11 & U9 Swimming Gala, with some excellent individual performances. Particular congratulations go to Leonie, Aria and Elaina, who all produced standout swims and represented Solefield brilliantly.

Our Boys’ Table Tennis team faced a tough challenge against Sevenoaks U13s. Despite the age difference, the match was extremely close, which is a fantastic achievement considering that the majority of our players were U10 alongside some U11 pupils. Their resilience, skill and willingness to compete against older opposition was particularly impressive.

On the football pitch, we had a competitive set of fixtures against Sevenoaks Prep. There were plenty of positive performances across the teams, with pupils showing excellent effort and a real desire to represent the school with pride.

Our Cross Country runners also enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at the Somerhill Regional Cross Country event. There were some excellent individual performances, with Alex P finishing an impressive 7th and Rose W securing a brilliant 3rd place on the podium in the U9 Girls’ race. A huge well done to everyone who competed and gave their very best.

It has been another great week of sport, and it is fantastic to see so many pupils competing with effort, enthusiasm and pride in playing for Solefield.

We are already looking forward to another busy week next week with Table Tennis, Basketball, Boys Football and our first ever block of Girls Rugby fixtures for years 5&6!
