The last few weeks have been busy with chess matches.
Firstly, in school, we took part in the Delancey UK chess challenge where nearly 80 boys from Y3-8 got a taste for a more formal chess tournament with paring cards. In the U9 category, our winner was Richard K and in the over 9s it was Freddie C. Boys who performed well will be invited to participate in the Megafinals next term.
Secondly, Year 3&4 had their first chess fixture against Sevenoaks Prep. In a 6-board match, Solefield managed to win 7-5 with 3 wins, one stalemate and two losses. Well done to the following boys for representing the school so well.
