What have you done in your role as Deputy Head?
I have run a whole school assembly on Taekwondo, which is something I am really passionate about. I acheived my black belt in Taekwondo. I also spoke in front of some of the parents on Zoom, during a Scholarship Pathway information evening.
How has your role changed during Covid?
Running my assembly on Zoom to the whole school has been a big difference. But the school have done so well in finding new ways for us Year 8 prefects to be involved in the school through Covid. I think other schools may not have given pupils so many opportunities, but Solefield has made being a Year 8 prefect very enjoyable.
What do you enjoy about your Prefect role?
It's been amazing how much the younger pupils have looked up to us in Year 8. I wasn't expecting the extra respect I have been receiving around the school. This has been quite unexpected, but really nice, as I enjoy being a role model for the younger pupils and helping them out when they need it.
