This term, the Year 7 and Year 8 students are studying STEM as part of their Scholarship Pathway.
Our first topic is based on soldering. The pupils will be joining components to their Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) in the hope that, once all is completed, they will have created their very own handheld gaming device.
This week's session saw the pupils take their first steps: soldering resistors, capacitors and transistors to their PCB. The pupils worked with care and attention, aiming to create the desired 'volcano' shape join. It's going to take a lots of perseverance and plenty of skill but they have made a positive start!
